Friday Favorites!

Time for some of my Friday Favorites/Everyday Loves:

Since starting school this week, tons of motivational thoughts have been running around in my head. And can we be honest for a sec? That never happens. So I'm going with this great vibe I'm getting. I bet it has something to do with this.

And also these awesome quotes:

Can Fall be here already? But... I want Fall to stay until it's time to be Summer again. Anyone else?

TV show I am obsessed with (I think I have seen every episode 2+ times), and now I've gotten Hubby to watch it! So excited for Season 3.
(P.s. Season 1 is on Netflix right now, and Season 2 will be added to Netflix Sept. 17.
Season 3 airs Sept. 17. Brought to you by an obsessed fan.)

What I want my work space to look like:

Hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend!!!
Mine will be filled with football, a good friend's BBQ, and lots of design homework. :)

Reliving the 90s... In Cartoons!

M and I enjoyed a very chill weekend. Some of our Sunday was spent reminiscing about 90's cartoons we used to watch.

I'll admit, I wasn't a huge cartoon watcher. But there are a few cartoons/shows (from when I would stay at my Grandma's house--she had all the good channels) that I loved watching. And M had his favorites that he would always watch. Remember any of these?

Syd's Picks:

DOUG

Arthur

Zoom

Bill Nye the Science Guy

Digimon

M's Picks:

Mighty Mouse

Mighty Max (Seeing a theme? :) )

Gargoyles

We took turns watching bits of each other's shows and had a good laugh about how nerdy we were (Rather, M had a good laugh at how nerdy I was...). Oh well.

Way fun date night! Fun to imagine what each other's childhoods were like. :)

What were your favorite 90s shows??

Holy Nosebleed Section, Batman

We went to another Real game on Saturday-- they played the LA Galaxy, so I guess for soccer fans it was a pretty big game. I'll admit, I am not a huge soccer fan, but I am getting into it more. :)
Btw, they won 3-1. Woo!

Hubby's work offers discounted tickets, so we invited some friends along. Shout out to my friend Carrie, who reads my blog! Hiiiiii. :)

We were on the very top row, right in the sun for the entire first half and part of the second half...
And I mean riiiiiight in the sun. We were dying.

Can you tell from Hubby's face? Ha! PS, if you look closely at my neck/chest, you can see the crazy sunburn from our Farmer's Market Adventure.

Everybody say "SQUINT!"

Farmer's Market Adventure

On Saturday I we had the idea to go to the Downtown SLC Farmer's Market. I really wanted to go see what it was like. I had begged Hubby to go with me all last Summer but we had never quite found the time. Isn't that funny how a whole summer can slip through your fingers? Of course, we were both in school that summer. This summer we are trying to make the most of things!

So off the the Market we went. On foot. I was in flipflops. For 15 blocks. Yikes! I didn't really think that through, huh? I thought parking would be crazy and it was such a gorgeous day... So we walked it. It was really lovely, I love staring around at all the little details that make up a town. I love graffiti in alleyways, brick sidewalks, fresh flowerbeds, and a sky so sunny you have to squint when you stare up at all the tall/interesting buildings.

But it was also very warm and M was wearing jeans... he wasn't very happy with me. Oops, haha. I don't think he heard me when I told him the address. And we got to the Market and there were none of the big ripe strawberries I was hoping for. Boo. Maybe next time. And maybe next time I'll convince myself that I really do need those "one-of-a-kind" fabric covered stud earrings and the handmade ceramic spoon rest (which I actually have been wanting...) that are all insanely overpriced. Maybe.

(The only picture I got from the Market-- a painting that caught my eye.
I'll definitely have to take more next time.)

So Hubs and I walked back the 15 blocks--him burning up in jeans and me trying to walk differently so I wouldn't rub the blisters on my feet... Now I have some huge blisters and a pretty crazy sunburn.
And no fresh strawberries.
Good Saturday outing, haha.

Anatomy of a Weekend

Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend! A big thanks to all the troops past and present that have made it possible for me to do whatever the heck I want on this three-day weekend.
Here's to freedom.

We had a pretty great weekend! Saturday we went to a Real Salt Lake soccer game (my first ever soccer game) with some friends. It was fun to watch--those guys really don't stop running!

On Sunday, I taught Sunday School and we did a bunch of church-y stuff. Haha.

Then on Memorial Day we went up to Bell Creek Canyon and hiked up to the waterfall.

It was long and steep up to the waterfall, but it was worth it! I don't think my broken toe was very happy with me, but oh well. Haha.
We definitely had a chill day after that... Jamba Juice may or may not have been involved... :)

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Friday Favorites!

Happy freaking Friday everyone! It's bittersweet, honestly. This week was my Spring break, so it's back to school next week. :/ I need this semester to be over! I always say I will never take night classes again (they are so depressing), but it always ends up happening... haha. When you work full time it is one of the only options. So I am not looking forward to going back to my night classes.
Oh well! Only a month and a half (or so) left.

Here are some of the things I have been loving this week:

Favorite song:
The Paper Kites-Bloom

Favorite Makeup Look:
                    NATURAL

Favorite Hair Trend (the still popular ombre hair-such a pretty look for summer...
I am seriously considering it! I have heard about ones you can do at home, but I am so chicken. I'll have to shell out the cash to a stylist. Then I can blame them. Ha!)

ombre hair

My Pinterest Experiment (Coconut hair treatment--probably a post to come this weekend on it):

EfaGold Coconut Oil Dietary Supplement

Favorite DIY (which I want to do...someday when hubby puts up my shelves... *nudge*)
Cute idea! Cover flower vases or mason jars with scrapbook paper and ribbon/twine

Favorite Hair-do (which so far my replications have been unsuccessful and embarrassing):

Hope you have a fabulous weekend! Mine will be filled with more art projects, hopefully some shopping with one of my girls, and dinner with friends at our favorite Hawaiian restaurant, Moki's (Another Favorite!!!).
Seriously, this place is so good. Their Chicken Katsu will forever be my obsession.
Here's to an awesome and undoubtedly too short weekend.

Spring Break

In my dreams, I am getting ready to travel to a tropical climate with very fashionable clothes for a week of no cares with my Hubby.

In reality, we are both up super late worried/studying for tomorrow's midterms.

Well, I can dream. And now you can dream with me:

We would find little hole in the wall restaurants with foods we can't pronounce and wander streets and quaint shops forever. We would go horseback riding in the ocean and Hubby would beat me in the race across the beach. We would snuggle and watch sunsets swim and
never look at a watch, calendar, or phone.

This is one of the outfits I would wear on our hypothetical vacation--that dress is classy enough to wear around into the shops and restaurants, but simple enough to throw on over my swimsuit.

I love this trendy tribal suit and this super easy maxi dress. Both are a no-brainer for my vacation.

Are you getting the wonderful, beautiful, unrealistic picture?

Mmmm.... Me too. :) I think I will let it follow me into my dreams tonight.

Sappy in the Morning - A Smile for Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!

This year I am so grateful (among so many things) to have an amazing Hubby. He is my world, my rock, and my best friend. He is my biggest blessing.

I am also so grateful for my amazing family and his. I love the holidays spent with family and good food- everything is so comfortable and festive.

So, so grateful for everything I have.

Funny story from this Thanksgiving morning: Rolling over in bed this morning, I looked at my amazing Hubby and said sweetly, "I love you so, so much." He looked down at me with a raised eyebrow. "You're kinda sappy in the morning, aren't you?"

Thanks babe.

Love you too. ;)

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Anniversary Trip - Zion National Park

I have now been married a year. To the most awesome Hubby ever. Our Anniversary was Monday, and I was just so overwhelmed with how quickly time has gone. I love him even more today than I did that day we got married in the temple, which I didn't think was possible.

Anyway, my sweet M being the guy he is, he planned a surprise anniversary vacation. He just told me what days to get off work and we jumped in the car. It was snowing the whole way down, but our little car pulled through for us. :)

Any guesses?

Well, we went to Zion's National Park in southern Utah. That weekend was pretty cold most of the time there (surprisingly--because it was southern Utah), but we did catch some sunshine.

It was so beautiful there. We went on hikes, drove around, hung out in our cabin, and ate some really kick ass food at this little restaurant at the buffalo ranch we stayed at.

Our trip in pictures:

I wish I could take credit for this snowman... But we found him already made.
We thought he was pretty epic...

 The Zion shuttle bus

At weeping rock

 Merrrr....

Just kidding. :)

I hated this bridge. It was rickety and you could see through it to the bottom of the canyon.
Nooooot a great park of the hike...

Great view from the top... it was soooo high!

Seeing how far we could walk the trail by straddling it on the rocks... lol

Whew, overload on pictures. :) But it was a great vacation!

A few more pics from my phone/Insagram:

^ (Very important car-ride home snacks)

All in all, it was a great trip. We haven't been on our own vacation (meaning, not visiting family, etc)
since the honeymoon, and it was so much fun.
Everything in life is better when you are married to your best friend.
Happy Anniversary, Babe!
